Caravan and Motorhome Club

Small site with 68 pitches on the edge of Cheddar village. There is no dog walk on the site but if you turn left out of the site it takes you along a path by the stream and down to a large field with plenty of space for dogs to run around.

Dulverton (Exmoor house), TA22 9HL

A small site of 66 pitches. Although there is only a small dog walk on site, it is a lovely walk from the site along the river into Dulverton itself which has pubs and tearooms as well as a few shops and a delicatessen.

Quantock campsite, West Bagborough, Taunton, TA4 3EP

A very friendly and dog friendly site. We had exclusive use of the BBQ field which included the BBQ hut which has a fridge freezer, tables, and lights. There are also fire pits available.

The enclosed field had rails that were too wide apart so we couldn’t let the dogs off in there, but there was a nice walk around the site and plenty of longer walks from the site.

There are also glamping units available which was ideal for our families who would normally camp, as we visited at the end of October.

Uphill Marina and touring park, near Weston-Super-Mare, BS23 4XR

A fabulous site with most of the pitches facing the lake which is a sea water lake (there were tiny moon jellyfish in the lake when we were there). People and dogs are allowed to swim in the lake but it is muddy at the edges.

The site is a short walk to Uphill beach which is dog friendly – go at high tide otherwise it is muddy and the mud can be dangerous at high tide.

There is a bus stop outside the site which takes you to Weston-Super-Mare which also has a dog friendly beach

Waterrow touring park (adult only), Wiveliscombe near Taunton, TA4 2AZ

https://www.waterrowpark.co.uk/

This is a beautiful adult only site which is very dog friendly.

The area behind the pitches slopes down to the River Tone and dogs are allowed off the lead all the way along here. There is also an enclosed dog area for when you don’t want them to get wet.

The path is very well maintained and there are several routes down to the river and little side paths in the wooded area.

All the facilities are in the barn including toilets, showers, washing machine, tumble dryers, iron, ironing board, drying rack, freezer, microwave, details of the local area, etc.

There is a bus service from nearby to Taunton or Dulverton but unfortunately it only runs every 2 1/2 hours.

We will definitely come back to this site – it was quiet and peaceful and not very full even towards the end of July.
