Lovely, friendly, independent donkey sanctuary where dogs are very welcome. Lovely (and very reasonable) cafe.

124 pitches. Nice site with a small dog area at one end (only large enough for late night wees), plus a larger one which is enclosed but was not as secure as it should be when we were there.

Ventnor – Havilland cottage, PO38 1QY

Absolutely fabulous cottage – incredibly well equipped with top of the range gadgets and a hot tub. Sleeps 7 in 3 double bedrooms and one singe bedroom and has a separate dog bedroom. Fully enclosed garden and private path to the beach. Officially allows 3 dogs but because the owner has, and breeds, Golden Retrievers, we managed to negotiate having 8 Goldies as long as they stayed downstairs (there is a stairgate) and in the dog bedroom if we went out.

Honestly couldn’t ask for a better place. Washing machine (with plenty of laundry capsules provided), tumble dryer, dishwasher, range cooker, microwave, coffee machine – everything you could ask for including a hot tub.
